Moving crib in Olsztyn
The biggest attraction of Olsztyn are not only the ruins of the medieval castle. The gallery of the local artist Jan Wiewiór is worth seeing. There are many wooden angels and other figures in the relic, colourful cottage.
The biggest part of the exposition is a moving crib that consists of 350 wooden figures. Mr Wiewiór has built the wooden crib during 15 years. The work is still not finished because the author enlarges it all the time. There is the newest part of the exhibition in the courtyard’s dungeon. It is a scene connected with the legend about Maciek Borkowic and the famous battle of the Olsztyn castle.
The visitors can buy handmade figures, angels and cribs there.
